We go every summer to this area of TX from LA and to this particular restaurant. Very good food. Over the 5 or so years we have eaten there the place has been busier and busier. So others have discovered this little restaurant. Good food and service and prices.
It's good Not much choice in this town
Great authentic food.
When come to Alpine Tx. Never have ate enchiladas that had no flavor, a taco that I couldn't even tell if that was a sausage or hamburger meat. But at least the beans and rice was hot. . If like this kind of food then this place is for you.
What can I say besides, FANTASTIC ☆☆☆☆☆, awesome food and selection , friendly smiling staff and not overpriced . will return again for sure.
Don't waste your time .Worst service ever. . The place is not clean. People walked out. I almost did. The Hotel Holland is close by. Now that's good food and service!
When we stepped in it looked clean and really nice. They took a long time to take our order and an even longer time to serve us our food. I ordered the chicken flauta plate. The chicken was dry and hard and the tortilla was greasy. There also was tomato, rice, avocado and beans on the plate. It had an ok flavor. I probably won't order the same thing next time.
Great food, generous plates, welcoming atmosphere, convenient location.
Worth the wait. Best CFC I’ve had in years.
Courteous service. Good preparation and presentation. Tastes authentic
My husband is from San Antonio and loves the way the sauce is made. The food is great, omg, the burger!
AWESOME!!! If you want your food fast, go to a fast food place. At Los Jalapenos your food will be cooked immediately after you order it and you'll taste the difference. Its going to become my meal stop from now on.
Was very busy due to spring break and they weren't ready. Only 2 servers running around and food took a very long time. We were warned by hotel desk that food can take awhile because food is basically homemade. But this was absurdly long and food was good but nothing special.
Did not like there food and service was bad
The food was good, but the wait was extremely long. Bathrooms were dirty and did not feel sanitary. They took 15-20 mins to get us our drinks and another hour to get us our food.
Horrible food and service. All I heard the entire time was a microwave slam and beep. Not fresh food.
I love this place. The salsa will leave your innards sizzling but the flavor is stellar.
Bad service, they told me they can't make any for me because they will closing in one hour!!!😡
Los Jalapeños- My lunch here at Los Jalapeño was ok. I will not come back to eat here again, it was a waste of my time. The service here is terrible, and very slow. The waitress we had barely visited the table where we were eating. I had to go up, ask for a refill, and even then, my refill never came. I am pretty sure the waitress even forgot about us. I wasn’t impressed at all. The wait is sooo long, and the food is not even worth it. The prices are ok, I guess. Overall, I would say, try it to form your own opinion and I hope anybody else’s experience is better than mine. Give everybody the benefit of the doubt. I personally won’t recommend this restaurant.
Solid Tex-Mex. Barbacoa taco plate is my favorite. Be aware that the salsa can be stout!
Nice sit down option in Alpine. Small but good Mexican and American foods. Large portions and friendly service. Off the main road on Murphy street. Nothing fancy but fresh made. Note: most places in this area close around 2 and if they open for dinner then it's usually around 4 . Also air conditioning isnt very cold and would be nice on a hot day .
No atmosphere and food is average.
Ordered super nachos thinking to be fast. It took over 30 minutes with only 5 tables occupied. One wait staff and one cook. I asked for guacamole that was listed as an ingredient but was told that they don't have any. Bathroom was filthy without soap to wash. Not going back.
I would recommend a sign at the front of the restaurant to let incoming customers know to seat themselves. Overall the food was decent, I loved their salsa and chips. The waitress we had gave us everything we asked for in a timely manner which made the experience very nice after trying to find a place to eat for the previous hour.
Stopped in for dinner on our way to Marfa for the night during a cross-country roadtrip. Family-owned business is killing it with their authentic Mexican! I had the tilapia tacos and their mango habanero salsa set my mouth on fire, in the best way. My partner had the chicken quesadilla and says it was flavorful and moist- the cheese was wonderful and gooey. Definitely check this place out on your travels.
I ate enchiladas during therelunch they were good but freaking expensive $9,75 for a plate🤦♀️Where I come from, San Antonio Texas not even the best Mexican restaurant charge that much for a plate of enchiladas.for lunch. My mom had a "lunch special" ugh hers was 14.95 for lunch give me a break. So we ordered 2 enchilada plates plus my mom's "lunch special" for almost $46.00 incl drinks and tip, oh yeah small tip because the worse service ever! The only one waitress and she had a attitude. I say get the hell out if you're not happy. Never again too expensive for lunch not worth it!!
The food was good, and the decor simple and clean. Though the place was slightly chilly.
The service was very basic, it felt like the waitress didn't want to be there. The wait time to get our food was a too long with only three other customers. The reason for two stars is because the food was good.
We got lucky finding this amazing restaurant. Family owned and some of the best Mexican food I have had in such a long time. The salsa is amazing!!! If you’re in Alpine go enjoy some amazing food!!
Waaaay too expensive and slow service. Food not so good in my opinion. Too hot during summer no good a/c either.
Very large portions. Friendly wait staff. Picidillo Plate had a very good taste, but was very salty. Mexican Plate was somewhat bland. Seems to be popular spot.
I Had the vegetarian enchiladas. It was very good.
Super cold!! Food took long. It was good though.
I'd give it 5 stars for the food, but we had to wait well over an hour after being seated to get it. The server was very friendly, but there was apparently only 1 server and 1 cook handling all the orders. The food was really very good but we probably wouldn't risk waiting that long again.
I'd give it four stars, it just takes a looong time to get your food, the food is really good. I recommend the jalapeno burger, but expect to spend an hour or longer when you go.
This is the first tex-mex place we've been too that didn't offer complimentary chips & salsa. No biggie, we just ordered some, only what came was not what I would consider salsa. It was more like a pureed jalapeno dip with baby food consistency. The service was incredibly slow, our waitress never came back after the food was delivered, which was brought 1 plate at a time, including the side dish of beans & rice. Before leaving I went to the restroom and found the door did not securely shut and there was no soap. Not that there was an empty bottle, that would be understandable. I mean no soap whatsoever. Which concerns me as to how well the employees can be washing their hands before handling food. Definitely a first & last visit.
Not my favorite, but not the worst. Salsa is great.
You gotta wait for your food but it's worth it. Never had a bad meal!
Good food if your not in a herry
The food was fantastic I truly recommend the tortilla soup. The service was good the pricing is good location is great.
Good food but take for ever to get food.
Came here for breakfast 3 days in a row on vacation because it was so great. The potato, egg, and sausage burritos were amazing, especially with added jalapeño. The chile (salsa) was pleasantly surprising--different than what we're used to, but awesome. And the caldo de res is literally the best caldo I have had my whole life and the best my dad has had in his 60+ years. We were 20 minutes down the road trying to decide if we should go back and get more to fill up the ice chest. It was worth the wait.
It's a good Mexican food restaurant for Alpine, food is always good here, just don't be in a rush and try to eat here, they do take a while sometimes but the wait is worth it.
I waited and it was worth the wait. Queso and Cochinita are great. Better Half:Comida corrida especial tooo Big for me but was super delicious!
There arent many options in alpine, that said I dont like waiting for service while I watch my server sit at a table toward the back playing on her phone. Food was good, but the service could use a bit of tightening up. Just the basics, like, dont ignore your customers
One of the best Mexican food restaurants in West Texas. Consistant quality. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered.
Always a good meal to be enjoyed, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. For me, their Migas plate at breakfast is the definitive recipe by which all others are judge and none meet that standard.
